I'm Back?

Well, it looks like I'm back! Well, until I get too bored or busy again.

Quite a lot has happened since my last post way back when on Thursday November 10th 2011.

My real life has been chaotic, crazy, heartbreaking, joyful, and in some circumstances, very lucky!

My wife of 13 years left me, but we're still good mates and are sharing custody of the kids. All is happy in that arena now. I also got a new job. A pretty well paid one with quite a lot of responsibility and that seems to be going well too. My youngest daughter hit 4 years old, my oldest will be 11 in January.

Gaming wise, I am still dabbling in EQ2, but to be honest haven't done anything constructive really in either the Age of Discovery Ex-Pac, or indeed the new one, Chains of Eternity. I have them both, but just seem to dabble in the quests or mentor down helping folks when I log in. A couple of nights a go I took part in my first raid for an age! It was fun to see Volt way down the parse with the healers after a couple of years of top end hiatus. I certainly have a lot of work to do in exploring the last two ex-pacs and getting the old codger up to speed. 18 months ago I was used to seeing him near the top of the parse always. It's nice to have a challenge.

As for other games, I have played Dirt 3 (and still love a bit of Dirt 2 too), completed GTA - San Andreas again (I love a bit of vintage gaming..I've been playing Micro Machines too on the PS2 format).

I have dabbled in SWTOR, which I really did love. the storylines are epic and I still fully intend to finish my two fave toons on there at some point, Voltaan a level 29 Jedi Sentinel, and Shah'lai my 32 Trooper. I kinda lost interest after my playing partner (my estranged wife) quit for a while, but it's still there any I have recently (last week) picked that up again to enjoy some more SW fun.

Aside from that, I haven't done much apart from watch TV series such as Person of Interest, Homeland, TBBT, New Girl, The Office (US), Pawn Stars to name but a few. And of course my year has been filled with a huge amount of watching Motorbike Racing such as British Superbikes, World Superbikes, MotoGP (and Moto2 + 3), World Endurance champs, MotoX and so on. I've done some Motocrossing, ridden my Kwaka ZX9 pretty much everyday and oh yeah, been knocked off it by a less than diligent car driver (a nice side swipe in to the kerb). My baby currently sits on my driveway awaiting repair.

I have also started to take part in a table top roleplaying group again, bringing together all the old table toppers I used to play with twenty years ago. Because we are all over the place now, we are using the 'fantasy grounds' system with the Call of Cthulhu ruleset and Skype to carry out the sessions. It's been working really well and my Bro (who is still running his epic blog here) has been doing a blinding job of running Mask's of Nyarlathotep for us. You can see his reports on the sessions here.

I'm also still busy writing my novel. It's going well! I reckon I should have a copy to send to publishers early next year at the current rate of writing.

So, for now, that's about it. More updates to follow and no doubt some interesting EQ2 posts as I try to drag Voltaan up to his 'legend' status once more.

Yup, as Ferris says, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it".
